When Trio Animal Foundation first found this sweet pitbull, she was barely clinging to life at just 25 pounds – less than half her healthy weight.

Trinity arrived at the emergency vet in devastating condition. Her body bore the brutal marks of frostbite, with pressure sores wherever her skin had touched the frozen ground.

X-rays revealed an even darker history – multiple metal pellets scattered throughout her abdomen, evidence of being shot with a BB gun.

Yet somehow, this brave girl still stood on her own four legs, defying all medical logic.

The Delicate Road to Recovery

Trinity’s rehabilitation had to be handled with extreme care. The greatest initial danger wasn’t her wounds, but refeeding syndrome.

Her devoted medical team fed her tiny meals four times daily, gradually increasing portions over several weeks to protect her fragile system.

Despite her physical pain, Trinity’s loving nature shone through. She craved human affection, wanting nothing more than to sit in laps and give kisses.

A Spirit Unbroken

As Trinity healed, her caregivers discovered she had been eating fabric to survive on the streets. The discovery broke their hearts but strengthened their resolve to help her thrive.

Through dedicated physical therapy, Trinity slowly rebuilt her strength. Each small victory – from proper sitting to voluntary walks – was celebrated.
