Lara, the surviving puppy, lay weak and injured with both back legs broken, her tiny body fighting against a severe maggot infestation.

Her exhausted mother, depleted of milk and strength, could only watch as we rushed them to emergency care.

Fighting for Life

At just 1.6 kg, Lara’s fragile body endured a critical surgery on both legs.

Those first hours after surgery were tense as we waited, hoping her fighting spirit would pull her through.
